Compassionate Therapy for Individuals and Couples

Life brings with it a wide range of experiences—grief and loss, rejection, isolation, guilt, shame, shifting relationships, and transitions that can leave us feeling unsteady or stuck.
Often, we carry unprocessed emotions from our past that quietly shape how we live, love, and relate to ourselves and others.
In our work together, I aim to offer a connective and grounded therapeutic space where you feel safe enough to explore these difficult places.

Therapy is not about having all the answers, but about building the internal capacity to sit with complexity, to understand your story, and to engage life more fully.

I believe therapy requires a unique combination of hard work, dedication, vulnerability, and curiosity. It’s not always easy to face the parts of ourselves we’ve pushed aside or left unexplored. Yet, processing these parts is essential for meaningful growth.
I welcome people of all backgrounds and identities, and I am committed to providing care that is inclusive, respectful, and attuned to each person’s unique journey.

No matter where you’re starting from or what you’re carrying, you are welcome here.

Rob French, LSCW

Rob French is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering psychotherapy to individuals and couples, both via telehealth and in person at his office in Rhinebeck, NY. He believes in a thoughtful, curious exploration — not just to find solutions, but to better understand the roots of struggles and the patterns that keep one stuck. More, Rob believes in creating and maintaining a space to reflect on one’s experience, make sense of one’s past, and move forward with clarity and purpose.
Rob’s approach is Relational and Integrative, drawing from Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotion Focused therapy (EFT), while utilizing psychoanalytic theory. This direction is warm, direct, and engaging , offering both support and curiosity to help one go deeper and grow.
Whether one’s navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, or grief, our work is directed towards uncovering what's holding one back. From there we identify and build the tools ones need to live a more grounded, connected, and meaningful life.
